Giving surplus inventory to Second Harvest Food Bank is safe, efficient and cost effective. When you have a product to donate, Second Harvest will respond promptly to your call. Our transportation fleet can arrange to pick up large donations if you are unable to deliver the product. Donated items are sorted by volunteers and distributed to our member agencies. In most cases, these items are packed into food boxes that will feed a family of 4 for a week. The product will not re-enter the marketplace and will not be resold or compete for consumer demand.

Our member agencies are routinely monitored to ensure that product is being distributed properly. In turn, we are monitored for safe food handling practices by our national affiliate America's Second Harvest.

All food donors are protected by the Good Samaritan Food Donor Act.
