Under the Hunger Prevention Act, some types of emergency feeding programs that serve prepared meals or emergency food boxes are eligible to receive government donated food free of the shred maintenance fee. The products available to these programs have been predetermined by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.

The amount if USDA product given to each agency depends on the allotment received by Second Harvest Food Bank and the number of clients the agency serves.

Monthly inventory and TEFAP reports are prepared by agencies receiving USDA product. Our commodities program is funded under an agreement with the state of Tennessee.
